art of hands making up a treeFamily Group Decision Making is a statewide initiative that offers families the ability to have a voice in the Child Welfare system. By participating in the Family Group Decision Making process families in our community will be able to create a plan that works best for them to be able to keep children safe.

Before this process occurs there is also preparation work that needs completed which includes:

  • Thinking about who you want at the conference
  • Providing information to those you want at the conference
  • Deciding where and when the meeting will take place and what the shared meal will be during private family time

"Strengths are discovered through listening, noticing, and paying attention to people.”
