Improving fish habitat in Cross ForkWatershed associations in Clinton County are local grassroots organizations that conserve and enhance local streams. Typical watershed association activities include organizing fish habitat improvement projects, riparian tree plantings, water quality monitoring, educating citizens about the importance of the watershed they live in, and helping fellow landowners with practices that can help improve water quality. The Clinton County Conservation District provides technical assistance to these groups through their Watershed Specialist.

There are three active watershed associations in Clinton County.
