Chatham Run Stormwater Management Plan
The Chatham Run watershed encompasses approximately 23.77 square miles, and is composed of three sub watersheds - Chatham Run mainstem, Little Plum Run and Big Plum Run, and is ~ 6 river miles downstream of Lock Haven and ~ 9 river miles upstream of Jersey Shore.
Chatham Run has varied topography with slopes ranging from 1.5% to 51%. This watershed lies within the Allegheny high plateau, just north of the Allegheny front.
Land use in the watershed is primarily rural with some agriculture, hunting lodges and logging activity. Approximately 650 acres of protected Tiadaghton State Forest is also located in the watershed as well as three villages, Chatham Run, Woolrich, and Crestmont.
Municipalities involved in the planning process were: Gallagher, Dunnstable, Pine Creek, Woodward, and Watson Townships. The original plan was adopted in 1989, and was updated in 2006.
